I need a tool where we can store documents with a team, place comments and forward e-mails to. Anything readily available?

I am willing to consider SharePoint (consider my desperation). Or should I whip something up (like a mix between Basecamp and Highrise).

People in the Office Nation get SharePoint instinctively and others I know earn a handsome sum implementing it.

Actually it is really simple: * Document management (I built something like this last week which I could reuse) * Inviting users * Catching e-mails and inlining it as a new message with attached documents on the site. I actually don't really know how to catch e-mails, but it shouldn't be too difficult. * Comments for objects in the stream.

If somebody is willing to pony up a design (50/50), we could have this to market in a month or so.

@fritts Fuck MoinMoin. I've used it extensively during my forays into SCons. Utter crap, like most wikis are for this goal and target audience.

Picking up email is pretty easy. :O I think a simple UI is harder.

They get it instantly because it has the same obstacles and crippling features office environments have.

37signals make a living by selling the fact that obstacles and crippling features are what we actually really want.

    Socialtext has this:

http://www.socialtext.com/products/features "Integrated with Email, IM and More * Send an email in to any wiki page or any weblog"

I tested a few years ago, UX wasn't great, but things may have changed: http://www.socialtext.com/signup/personal

@advany GoPlan is ridiculous and does not allow you to comment on documents.
