I need a mouse for my Mac which does not suck and does not need hackware to function properly. Recommendations?

Don't buy the mighty mouse, it sucks. There is one other bluetooth mouse (all the other wireless mouse have a custom USB dongle, probably because bluetooth on windows = teh suck), which I hear good things about and I've been meaning to buy it...
The cheapest optical logitech you can find (I think they run at around 10 EUR, new), which is not wireless. ;-) I've had one of those for almost six years now.
I have that 10 euro logitech usb LED mouse and it moves just fine, without hackery. But I've had issues with slow moving pointers before. Not sure what I did to make this work.
no idea. Do you need the extra buttons? a 2D scrollwheel that goes left and right 'just works' if my mouse is any indication, and other than the scrollwheel it has a left and a right mouse button and nothing else. That bluetooth mouse doesn't seem to be burdened with a christmas tree collection of buttons either.
The buttons are not the key issue, the slow movemen is. But I'll get that mouse tomorrow and see if I can make it work. Then I'll get the elevator and the Bluetooth keyboard.
Heard about it, but wireless dongle = suck, and also asking for compatibility problems. There are half a dozen nano-receiver mice for sale, as well as a bluetooth dongle of that size, so marvel of engineering not so much. flywheel scrollwheel is cool though.

and yes, it comes in different colour schemes, fortunately. Mediamarkt sells them.

I have a decent logitech mouse, doesn't that necessitate hackware to work properly?
If I hook it up as is, it moves far too slowly to be usable.

Stays the case: I have a logitech with umpteen buttons. What do I do to make that usable on my Macbook?

Yeah, wireless is a huge turn off. At least for HID. ;-) All those batteries, or you need a docking station to charge it. Bah...
