Brightkite is so filled with fail. I don't get what people do there. How do I modify a location I check into? Site for expert users it seems

    Seconded, it's a bit confusing

This entire problem has been mostly solved by Plazes. Only pain is they won't develop an iPhone client.

Actually they will/are. Felix mentioned it in Lisbon while at SHiFT, and see http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/05/15/exclusive-look-at-plazes-for-iphone/

Why don't they launch it? This is already more useful than Brightkite.

Being bought by Nokia in June may have some bearing on it.

That's what I'm thinking that Nokia politics may have an effect. Nokia'd better focus on making a usable cell phone sometime soon.

@alper I love my #e71. :-) It's my first Nokia phone ever and so far it's been really great.

On other things, I agree - Nokia might make things slower for Plazes. the API is in "beta" again and the 2.0 API (plazes.net) was discontinued already.
